For the foodies, dog lovers, and readers on this site, Skidboot wrote a book with the help of Ron Westmoreland, a roper and writing teacher, and David Hartwig, the cowboy farrier with whom Skidboot lived. He was named for the leathers a roping horse wears to protect its hooves when skidding to a stop.
